Step-by-Step: Your First Visit

1. Book Your Appointment

Choose a convenient time online or call us. You’ll select either telehealth (available in California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado) or an in-person visit at our Irvine office.

2. Complete Intake Forms

You’ll receive secure online forms before your visit. These cover your medical history, current symptoms, medications, and goals. Completing them ahead of time helps us make the most of your appointment.

3. Insurance or Private-Pay Check

We verify benefits when possible and provide clear cost information. Private-pay patients receive a Good Faith Estimate before the first visit—no surprises.

4. Meet Your Provider

Your first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (typically 45–60 minutes). You’ll meet one of our dual board-certified Psychiatric & Family Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP-BC, FNP-C). We take time to understand not just your symptoms, but the full picture—sleep, stress, hormones, lifestyle, and more.

5. Leave with a Clear Plan

You’ll receive personalized recommendations that may include medication management, lifestyle strategies, lab work if needed, and follow-up scheduling. You’ll know the next steps before the session ends.

A list of current medications, any recent lab results, and notes about your main concerns or goals are helpful but not required.

The clinical process is the same. Telehealth uses a secure video platform; in-person visits take place at our Irvine office (Ethera).

Most new patients are able to book within a few days.

We’ll schedule follow-up appointments based on your treatment plan. Many patients begin with closer monitoring and then space visits further apart as they stabilize.
