Therapy and Psychiatric Care for Laguna Niguel Residents

For many people in Laguna Niguel, getting to our office takes one turn. Crown Valley Parkway runs from the Laguna Niguel Civic Center, past Crown Valley Community Park and the Niguel Botanical Preserve, and straight into Mission Viejo. Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness (IPW Health) is just off that parkway at 27201 Puerta Real, Suite 300. It’s about 4.5 miles from Laguna Niguel City Hall, often 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Whether you’re near Laguna Niguel Regional Park on La Paz Road, up the hill toward the old “Ziggurat” federal building on Avila Road, or anywhere else in town, you can come into the office or meet with us by secure video. New patients can usually get an appointment the same week.

When anxiety, low mood or hormones get in the way

Some people call us because worry has started to keep them up at night. Others have felt flat for months, or notice that their mood drops sharply the week or two before their period. That last pattern may point to premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which is more than ordinary PMS and deserves a real evaluation. We start by listening. Then we look at your symptoms alongside sleep, hormones, thyroid and iron levels, and stress, because mood rarely exists in isolation.

From there, we build a plan with you. It might be therapy alone, therapy alongside psychiatric care, or medication management when it’s clinically appropriate. You make the decisions together with your provider.

Support for couples, too

Relationship strain often travels with anxiety and depression. Our couples therapy is available in person or by telehealth, which helps when two work schedules and a family calendar have to line up. Some couples join from home in Laguna Niguel. Others come to the office together.

Who you’ll work with

The practice was founded by Shahrzad (Shery) Shadmani, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, a psychiatric nurse practitioner with additional board certification in family practice. She works alongside psychiatric clinicians and licensed therapists, so your psychiatric care and your therapy can be coordinated under one roof.
