If you live in Lake Forest, you know the rhythm of the place. The commute down El Toro Road, weekend games at the Lake Forest Sports Park on Rancho Parkway, the steady crowd at the Etnies Skatepark. When you’re busy, it’s easy to put off getting help for focus problems, worry or a low mood that won’t lift. Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness (IPW Health) tries to make that first step simpler, with same-week appointments for new patients and visits in person or by secure video.
Our office is at 27201 Puerta Real, Suite 300, in Mission Viejo, in the Mission Ridge building near Crown Valley Parkway and the I-5, about a block from The Shops at Mission Viejo. From Lake Forest City Hall it’s roughly 12 miles south on the I-5. That’s usually about 20 minutes when traffic is light, so plan for more at rush hour. Plenty of Lake Forest patients from El Toro, Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills just pick whatever fits the day: the drive when they want to meet face to face, or telehealth from home or a parked car over lunch.
Plenty of Lake Forest adults have wondered for years whether ADHD explains their missed deadlines, restlessness or trouble finishing what they start. A structured ADHD evaluation looks at your history, your current symptoms and anything else that can look like ADHD, such as anxiety, depression, poor sleep or stress. You come away with a diagnosis or a clearer picture, plus a plan. That plan may include therapy, practical strategies, follow-up visits and, when it’s clinically appropriate, medication management.
IPW Health was founded by Shahrzad (Shery) Shadmani, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is also board-certified in family practice. That dual training shapes how the practice works. Sleep, hormones, thyroid and iron levels, medical conditions and stress can all affect how you feel, so we look at those factors before building a treatment plan. A team of psychiatric clinicians and licensed therapists works with Shery, and because psychiatry and therapy happen under one roof, your providers can coordinate with each other.
Telehealth covers California, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. If you move or travel within those states, you can usually keep the same provider. We also see patients from nearby Irvine and San Clemente. Our neighbors in Laguna Hills, just south along the I-5, have their own page with directions.
Insurance: In-network with Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, Optum and UnitedHealthcare for both therapy and psychiatry. Cash-pay is also available. Coverage varies by plan, so we verify your benefits before your first visit. See plans and pricing.
