Mental Health Care for Rancho Santa Margarita, In Person or From Home

Rancho Santa Margarita sits right up against the foothills, from the walking loop around Lago Santa Margarita to Central Park on La Miranda and the trails toward O’Neill Regional Park. It’s a great place to live. But when you need mental health care, the closest options can feel far away. Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness (IPW Health) offers two easy ways to get care: secure telehealth from wherever you are in town, or an in-person visit at our Mission Viejo office.

The office is at 27201 Puerta Real, Suite 300. From Rancho Santa Margarita City Hall, the drive is about 9.5 miles, heading down Antonio Parkway and then west on Crown Valley Parkway. That usually takes 15 to 20 minutes in light traffic. If you live in Dove Canyon, Trabuco Highlands or near Cañada Vista Park on Antonio Parkway, your drive time will vary.

Same-week access, Saturday hours

Waiting weeks for a first appointment is hard when you’re struggling. We offer same-week appointments for new patients, and our office is open Monday through Friday 9–5 plus Saturday 10–2. That Saturday window helps parents juggling school schedules and commuters who leave the canyons early and get home late.

Where care usually begins

Most people start with an evaluation. If you’ve struggled with attention and organization for as long as you can remember, an ADHD evaluation can clarify what’s going on and rule out look-alikes such as anxiety, depression or sleep problems. If worry, sadness or irritability is the main issue, your first visit focuses on understanding those symptoms and what’s driving them. Hormonal shifts, thyroid and iron levels, and day-to-day stress are all part of that picture.

Many people then begin therapy. Our licensed therapists offer individual therapy and couples therapy, and couples can meet in person or by telehealth. When it’s clinically appropriate, psychiatric care adds medication management with regular follow-up, coordinated with your therapist.

A practice built around the whole person

IPW Health was founded by Shahrzad (Shery) Shadmani, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C. She’s a psychiatric nurse practitioner who also holds board certification as a family nurse practitioner, and she leads a team of psychiatric clinicians and licensed therapists. Because therapy and psychiatry are under one roof, you don’t have to coordinate between offices on your own.

Services for Rancho Santa Margarita patients

Telehealth is available anywhere in California, as well as in Oregon, Washington and Colorado, so care can continue during a work trip or a move. We also see patients from Irvine and San Clemente. Families just down Antonio Parkway in Ladera Ranch can find their own page with directions.

Insurance: In-network with Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, Optum and UnitedHealthcare for both therapy and psychiatry. Cash-pay is also available. Coverage varies by plan, so we verify your benefits before your first visit. See plans and pricing.
